Affiliation with Restore Reason
Restore Reason is now taking applications from those individuals who are interested in becoming a member and declaring themselves a Citizen of the Empire of the Mind. Our mission is to demand the right to live in a rational society and to halt the distortion, coercion, mediocrity, and indifference that are currently plaguing this world.

Those who proudly carry the Sign of the Dollar identifying themselves as a Citizen of the Empire of the Mind have the strength and dedication to implement the tools of Truth, Freedom, Beauty, and Romance to create a rational society based on individual rights, private property, non-aggression, and unregulated free trade.
If you have not done so already, we strongly suggest you read the Constitution for the Sovereign States and the Restore Reason Program, and study them prior to making a decision to become a member of Restore Reason. The Constitution for the Sovereign States is the only practical expression of a rational society based on the individual right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness currently being debated. There is also information on the other links on this blog to help make your decision to become a member an informed one.
Regarding Contact with Non-Members
It will always be our policy NOT to place non-members in contact with members of Restore Reason, as an individual's membership is held in the strictest confidence. This does not reflect on the sincerity of the person making the inquiry, but as realists, we acknowledge that Rational Self-Interest may be a controversial subject and thus our policy is an important matter of security for our members.
The protection of our members is one of the reasons we gather information through our extensive questionnaire about those wishing Active Membership participation. We attempt to make it reasonably certain that those whom we accept may interact safely and responsibly with our other members. Individual's who are not yet registered as a member are an unknown quantity, and realistically, we cannot trust those whom we do not know.
Goals of Restore Reason
Every revisionist movement needs a set of goals and guidelines that are clear, concrete, and that will effect significant change. The following Five-Point Program reflects attitudes which allow others to decide whether they wish to align themselves with us or not:
- Overhuman Ideal: the conceptual model of men and women as erotic and heroic super-beings of free will, with their own happiness as the moral purpose of their lives, productive achievement as their noblest activity, sensuality as an expression of their self-esteem, and reason as their only absolute;
- Rational Self-Interest: the thoughts, choices, actions, and feelings that express a morality based on objective reality and reason - best expressed in the Eleven Statements of Rational Self-Interest;
- Private Property: the individual right of every man and woman to choose their own values, to control their own existence, to achieve their own goals, to choose the work the they like, and to trade their own product or service for the products and services of others;
- Individual Sovereignty: the natural and inalienable right of every man and woman to life, liberty, property, voluntary association, self-determination, and the pursuit of happiness;
- Natural Order: the ability of every man and woman to survive by their own strength, to succeed by their own merits, and to leave a legacy of good health, high intelligence, and noble character to future generations.
The following are the basic tenants upon which Rational Self-Interest is built:
- Truth: the nature of reality as discovered through rational investigation
- Freedom: the individual right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness
- Beauty: the manifestation of values that evoke feelings of order, delight, pleasure, and wonder
- Romance: the recognizing, creating, trading, sharing, experiencing, and admiring of conscious and physical values

- I mold my appearance and environment to suit my aim
- I take full responsibility for my life
- I use reason to understand the realities of existence
- I communicate patterns that influence outcomes
- I live my purpose everyday
- I never give up
- I keep myself in peak physical condition
- I make money work for me
- I indulge my senses regularly
- I only associate with individuals who share my values
- I survive by the strength of my mind and body

Registered Membership
If you wish to join us to show your support or appreciation you can become a Registered Member. For an annual (non-refundable) membership fee of two hundred dollars in United States currency, you will receive an impressive die-cast pendant with chain featuring the red, white, black, and gold emblem of Rational Self-Interest, which will identify you to other members as a Citizen of the Empire of the Mind. If you expect to meet another member of Restore Reason for the first time, be prepared to produce the Sign of the Dollar pendant.

Your membership fees will be used to restore the ideal of reason to every individual who is sorely in need of a lifeline to a rational society, and to combat the distortion, coercion, mediocrity, and indifference that are currently plaguing this world.
There are no further obligations beyond the annual membership fee. You must be legally an adult in your nation of residence. If you represent yourself as a Citizen of the Empire of the Mind you are legally obligated to become a member of Restore Reason.
Becoming a member of Restore Reason is not for everyone, but if it is for you, we welcome you. We are not a fan club, a social networking clique, or a lonely hearts club group. We are a group of dynamic individuals who will fight for our individual right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness, and stand forth as the ultimate alternative to the distortion, coercion, mediocrity, and indifference that are currently plaguing this world. We realize what we have, what we are, and what we shall become. Our scope is unlimited, and the extent of your involvement is based on your own potential. All names and addresses are held in strict confidence and you are under no additional obligation beyond the annual membership fee as a Registered Member, unless you choose to present yourself for further consideration.

Please Note: all memberships are processed ONLY through our Central Administration Office. There are NO "local branches or contacts" through which one becomes a member. Once your Active Membership Application is accepted, you may then snail mail a signed letter with a request to be placed in contact with local members who share interest in such contact -- should there be any in your area. Of course, you may mark the spot on the Active Membership Application noting your interest.
Active Membership
If you wish to take on a more substantive role, we require that you become an Active Member of Restore Reason. This requires that you legally be an adult in your nation of residence, and that you fill out an Active Membership Application, indicating your intention to take a more serious and active role in our organization. By completing and returning it (by snail mail - we'll let you know when e-mail applications will be accepted), you will be included in our E-Bulletin List (the mailing schedule for this is "as needed") so you can receive announcements pertinent to your membership. Your file will also be reviewed for further involvement in achieving the goal of a rational society based on individual rights, private property, non-aggression, and unregulated free trade. Restore Reason Order of Merit
Restore Reason is not an initiatory organization. It is our position that, for those with awareness, by living fully you will have plenty of authentic initiatory experiences through the many avenues you explore, hence there is no need for artificial posturing within our organization. In fact, no member is required to move beyond being a Registered Member. The Level Two denoting Active Membership is only for members who seek more involvement with the organization and other local members. The remaining levels (from Three to Six) are not open to application or to request. Our specific standards for them will not be publicly released. The administration watches the progress of qualified individuals (regardless of membership), and may choose to grant recognition based on demonstrated excellence in understanding and communicating the Truth, Freedom, Beauty, and Romance tenants of Rational Self-Interest, coupled with outstanding merit and achievement in the arena of the real world which have produced superior results. This is meritocracy at work. So, if you feel so inclined, keep us updated on your own accomplishments or on the accomplishments of other outstanding individuals that you feel may deserve recognition.
Hierarchy for the Order of Merit
- Level One: Registered Member
- Level Two: Active Member
- Level Three: Knight (male) or Dame (female) - for "outstanding merit" in allure, warfare, business, philanthropy, art, media, science, technology, academics, athletics, or the trades
- Level Four: Lord (male) or Lady (female) - minimum 20 years in the rank of Knight (male) or Dame (female)
- Level Five: Grand Star - recognition of those individuals who have achieved "outstanding merit" throughout their lives
- Level Six: Honorary Grand Star - recognition of those individuals who have achieved "outstanding merit" throughout their lives but who are no longer living
Any member who demonstrates a thorough grasp of Rational Self-Interest, and would like to be a contact for local media or other interested parties may be chosen to serve as an Agent.
When you fill out you Active Membership Application for further involvement, let us know if you would like to be considered a qualified contact point in your area or for media representation. You can submit material which demonstrates your qualifications with your Active Membership Application, such as samples of your writing and video of yourself in public speaking mode.
Resignation
It is a simple matter for a member to terminate their membership. One simply needs to write, sign, and date a letter, stating: "I hereby resign my membership in Restore Reason and as a Citizen of the Empire of the Mind." (hard copy only -- e-mail resignations not accepted). Mail this letter, along with your Sign of the Dollar pendant, to our Central Administration Office and your file will be officially closed. You may explain your reason for your resignation, but that is not required. If you decide at some future point that you wish to join again, you must detail your reasons for resignation.
There will be no refunding of any part of the annual membership fee for resignation of membership.
Administrative Termination
Membership may be terminated for personal actions on the part of members which are deemed inconsistent with the principles of Rational Self-Interest.
There will be no refunding of any part of the annual membership fee for administrative termination of membership and you will be required to return you membership pendant to the Central Administration Office at your own expense.
